The saying goes that the way to a man’s heart is food. I guess this can be applied to women too (though it may not be on the top of the list most of the times). But Epic channel won my heart right away with their food show called ‘Raja Rasoi aur anya Kahaniyaan’. The first episode takes us to Delhi talking about the Mughlai cuisine, the influence of the Persian cuisine, the street food, the evolving of chats and of course, among many other things, Delhi’s world famous Parathewali gali.

This was the first show I watched on the channel and though I am hardly a foodie, the history of food in India and its rich culture left me astonished and craving for more. The innovations, the discoveries and the adaptation of foreign food and procedures into the Royal Indian cuisine makes way for many stories, thus giving the viewers an insight into these amazing tales.

The show is extensively researched, well written and directed with high quality camera work. Each episode concentrates on a different region of India and covers various cuisines prevalent in the region. This show has already completed its first season and viewers are awaiting its second round of episodes filled with delicacies and stories from some more regions of India.
