you take your eyes all the way to the storm
and let me reside in it
homeless have i walked roads unknown
a step removed from each step
unawakened eyes untried faces masks
of never going all the way anywhere
as if eternity were to be glimpsed
from a safe and sure distance
eternity. was it even sought
as the sound of here grew echoing loud
all echoes from every other world cut out
in the dead silence where half storms brew
to be quickly snuffed out ere fire is born
and so it is, on and on and again and another
unawakening bound and neatly trimmed by
never going all the way anywhere
and i walked in this half world of mine
then you took your eyes all the way to the storm
and let me resurrect in it
