The melodious sound of the anklets

I never tire from hearing
The melodious sound of the anklets
Years since I’ve been wearing
Beautiful pieces resting on my legs

The music on, I prance around
The anklets matching with the sound
Tinkling along the beat of the drum
Joining me as I happily hum

The anklets seem to reflect my mood
For if I’m sad or if I brood
They remain quiet, hardly make a sound
In happier times, they prattle aloud

These threads of silver amuse me
Ornaments that are part of me
In a jig or prance, they accompany me
As I dance along, they dance with me

    • Thanks Rhea. You can wear when you are at home during the weekends and prance all day. I’ve always loved payal. Couldn’t wear during school days, but during vacations, I’d wear them all the time. 😀
