Our plan

Come, run away with me

Far away, further than the eye can see

Across meadows of mustard

Skip through thorny rose bushes

Find me safe in the wilderness

Don’t dare deny the lightheadedness…

Leave your caring family be

Together we sow our own family tree

A girl with unmanageable curls

A boy exceptionally fair

A house surrounded by flowers and humming bees

Where two lovers shall frolic, forever free…

Come, run away with me

The heart won’t need all that much money

A library bursting with books

A larder stocked enough to cook

A bed warm enough for two

My life, that I long to share with you…

    • Thank you di.. My poetry skills are pretty basic, but sometimes desires need to be expressed in a rhyme I guess. Thought of this when I was watching a movie on Jane Austen, “Becoming Jane”. She couldn’t marry the person she loved because he was below her in status, but he went on to name his daughter “Jane”.. And through all this she continued to write happy endings for her stories.. It really touched me.

And I see a poem is up by you as well.. It’s like humari dhakane ek hai.. rabba ve..

      • i love that jane austen story… our world is all about having it all, yet beauty seems to come from not having it all, don’t you think? yeah, the poem came rushing at me as i sat looking wretchedly at the computer, wanting to say something, no idea what… and thinking, why don’t i have the time to update ncofl, or finsih the story i have started, why must i not get any time to write when i just need to. there is a pagal factor at work here.

Last weekend Aarwen attended a graduation. Not her own, but delightfully her first. She sat there as the crowd assembled in an open amphitheater. The ceremony held an atmosphere of its own. Lofty Latin phrases floated down lazily in the space around her. Emotions ran...
